Double Cross-Linked Chitosan/Bacterial Cellulose Dressing with Self-Healable Ability

چکیده

Self-healing hydrogel products have attracted a great deal of interest in wound healing due to their ability repair own structural damage. Herein, an all-natural self-healing based on methacrylated chitosan (CSMA) and dialdehyde bacterial cellulose (DABC) is developed. MA used modify CS obtain water-soluble biomaterial-based CSMA with photo crosslinking effects. BC modified through simple oxidation method gain the polymer chain. The success modification confirmed via FTIR. Hydrogels are formed within 11 min establishment Schiff base between amino aldehyde DABC. A dynamically reversible bond endows good properties macroscopic microscopic observations. We observe uniform porous structure using SEM images, DABC nanofibers found be well distributed hydrogel. compressive strength more than 20 kPa swelling rate sees over 10-fold increase. In addition, CSMA/DABC has cytocompatibility, cell viability exceeding 90%. These results indicate that self-healable demonstrates strong application potential tissue repair.

Investigation on cross-linked nanomicrobial cellulose properties as modern wound dressing

Background: Nanomicrobial cellulose is an important biopolymer with a three-dimensional structure that is produced by some microorganisms and has been widely used in medicine. One of the unique properties of microbial cellulose is its very high water absorption, which can be used to produce modern wound dressings. But after drying, it’s three-dimensional structure collapses and the amount of wa...

Hydrogels Prepared from Cross-Linked Nanofibrillated Cellulose

Nanocomposite hydrogels were developed by cross-linking nanofibrillated cellulose with poly(methyl vinyl ether-co-maleic acid) and polyethylene glycol. The cross-linked hydrogels showed enhanced water absorption and gel content with the addition of nanocellulose. In addition, the thermal stability, mechanical strength, and modulus increased with an increase in the amount of nanocellulose in hyd...

Chitosan-cellulose composite for wound dressing material. Part 2. Antimicrobial activity, blood absorption ability, and biocompatibility.

Chitosan (CS), a polysaccharide derived from chitin, the second most abundant polysaccharide, is widely used in the medical world because of its natural and nontoxic properties and its innate ability for antibacterial and hemostasis effects. In this study, the novel composites containing CS and cellulose (CEL) (i.e., [CEL + CS]), which we have previously synthesized using a green and totally re...

Ice templated and cross-linked xylan/nanocrystalline cellulose hydrogels.

Structured xylan-based hydrogels, reinforced with cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), have successfully been prepared from water suspensions by cross-linking during freeze-casting. In order to induce cross-linking during the solidification/sublimation operation, xylan was first oxidized using sodium periodate to introduce dialdehydes. The oxidized xylan was then mixed with CNCs after which the suspe...

Ionic Cross-linked Cellulose Nanocrystals Composites of Poly(vinyl acetate)

Understanding the effect on the materials mechanical properties from the perspective of interfacial interaction between the filler and the polymer matrix has become an important criterion in polymer nanocomposites field. Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) are renewable materials that can be extracted from natural sources, such as wood, cotton, and tunicates. In addition, CNCs have the characteristic...
